Conversation with Austin and Brodie in the car yesterday:
A: “Mom are you ever going to finish college” (referring to the fact that every other year I take a semester)
Mom: “Eventually. Right now I am a little busy.”
B: “Do you need to finish college so you can get a job?”
A: “Brodie, she has a job.”
B: “Oh right. Mom your job is hard.”
Mom: “What job is that?”
B: “Taking care of us all the time. Cleaning up after us and cooking for us. I love your cooking. Your rice is good.”
Mom: “Thanks. You just picked the one food item I made last week from a package, but thanks.”
A: “Mom, you know what is hard about your job?”
Mom: “What would that be?”
A: “People with other jobs get to leave their job. You work TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A DAY (said VERY dramatic).”
Mom: “True. I do work more hours. But I love my job more than anything in the world.”
B: “Your job is harder than Jason’s”
Mom: “That will be our secret”
A: “Thanks Mom.”

Isn’t it nice to be appreciated…that is great!
Cute! My Austin (2 1/2) told me this weekend that he was proud of me for doing the laundry! Not sure what made me feel better the fact that someone was glad that I was doing the laundry or the fact that I told him I was proud of him enough that he knew how to tell me!
Motherhood is so awsome!
OMG…they are going to make GREAT husbands someday…I am SO hooking Shay up with one of your boys!! I only wish my son would realize these things….
Its great to know that our kids look up to us and understand how important our jobs are as mothers. Its those little comments that make our hard-long-never ending days worth it!
I’m leaving a big fat ‘aaaawwwwww’ for that one.
