Thank You, Evan

While I was pregnant with Evan it was the running joke that we should be VERY careful about what we named him. Chase is the most appropriately named person I have ever met. All we have done since he was 4 months old is CHASE him. After Evan was born there was a moment when filling out the birth certificate paperwork when I thought that maybe I should name him “sit still” or “don’t move”. People laugh, but I really did pray that Evan would be a little less physical than Chase was. Partially because if I have him running around and Chase trying to find the highest point at which to hurl himself from…well you can see where that could get tricky. The other part was because I feel like Chase left babyhood REALLY fast. He was crawling at 5 months and pulling up at almost 7 months and walking at 9 months. Evan is now about 10 days from being 7 months old and he is totally happy to just scoot around on his belly, or combat crawl as I like to call it. He doesn’t try to get up on his knees. Why bother when he can get where he wants to go just fine? He can sit up unassisted, but doesn’t care to most of the time. I was going back in my blog and found that when Chase was right about the same age he was already doing THIS.

So, Evan, you just take your time sweet boy. I will be happy to carry you forever.

  1. I can’t believe he is already 7 months old?! Yea…they grow too fast…I’m glad he is letting you enjoy the baby thing a little longer…I’m jealous. I am SO tired of hearing the word NO. :)
