Jason and I have a new niece. Jason’s brother, Brian, and his wife, Kristi, had a beautiful baby girl early Sunday morning. They live in Minnesota so we will have to wait until October to cuddle her in person. But we are soaking in all the pictures they have sent. Keep them coming!!!

Congratulations guys! Parenthood changes EVERYTHING! But, it is so worth it!

Chase got totally busted trying to get to the bubble gum yesterday. Me being the good mom I am had to run for the camera BEFORE scolding him.

Jason bought the boys a trampoline. It is the new favorite thing now. Mommy loves that it makes all three older boys TIRED!

Jason and I celebrated our three year anniversary on Wednesday. I know I am slow getting a post up.

I have said many times that I think Jason is the most amazing person. I have also said a million times that he is the most amazing father. Anyone close to me knows that I view Jason as the best thing that has ever happened to me. The thing I am most thankful for is that he puts up with me. I realize my flaws and that I am not the easiest person to live with.

I love you babe….

BTW, he is also amazing because he got me a new purse. Not that I am materialistic…but it sure is pretty!

Quick Colorado Wrap up…

Posted on

I have so much I could write about our trip to Colorado, but the truth is I doubt I will get time this week to do that big of a post. So here is a quicky for ya:

We had an absolute blast. The babies were fine on the ride up there and Chase was VERY excited to see his brothers (they had been with family for a month). We did a lot of fishing and just relaxing. The boys all really took to the fishing.

Jason got to do some fly-fishing with his dad:

The boys had a great time exploring and hiking with us:

Not to mention everyone loved getting dirty…even Evan (Yes that is a mouthful of dirt):

We also discovered that I am very grown up:

Evan spent a good deal of the time exploring and slapping his daddy:

Mostly, we just enjoyed the cool weather and the beautiful scenery:

More pictures to come soon. Right now I am still trying to locate the bottom of my laundry pile.

Well all…things will be quiet around here for about a week. The family and I are headed to Colorado for a week. My in-laws are coming along and are bringing me my big boys (I have missed them sooooooooooo much). Jason and I rented a cabin and can’t wait to relax and hike and enjoy some mild weather. I, personally, can’t wait to get snap happy with all the gorgeous scenery. Wish us luck on the loooooooong car ride with the little ones.

Have a great week all. I will have tons of pictures when we get back.

Going Manual…

Posted on

When I got my SLR camera back in February I made a promise to myself that I would NOT spend that much money on a camera to leave in on Auto all the time. Seriously, there is not point in shelling out that kind of money on a camera and not learning how to use it. So, I took it slow. I read A LOT. I have learned about framing your shot and exposure and so much more.  I eventually ventured off of the auto mode and the presets and went into Program mode. It allowed me to learn a little bit about the camera while still letting the camera choose some of the settings. I am now, boldly learning the manual mode. Where I have to define everything…what f-stop, what ISO, what white balance setting, what metering mode….everything. I am excited to say I have about a 10% idea of what I am doing. My goal is to be shooting all manual by October. That is of course if my kids let me sit down and figure out all the buttons and menus. Not to mention figuring out what a picture shot at f2.8 with a ISO of 400 looks like on a cloudy day. I will get back to you…..

My husband is getting as bad as me (he has my old camera…hehe):
