A Rarity…

Posted on

It is very rare that I get the boys down for naps at the same time.  I would love to say I have it down to a science, but I don’t.  Naps are whenever tired hits.  But, boy was it nice to have a bit to myself…even if I did have to do dishes and laundry while it was going on.

Wide World of Randomness…

My ADD is totally getting the best of me lately, as I seem to lack the ability to sit and write one of the many posts that are floating in my head.  Everything ends up muddled together.  So bullet points it is.

  • Sunday marked the 5th Anniversary of my baptism.  September 7, 2003 marked a wonderful day as I publicly displayed my choice to follow hard after Jesus.  Some days I stumble….some days I outright go the opposite way.  But most days I can say that I am really still on fire for God and want to remain so.
  • Baseball has taken over our lives.  I just got done putting all of Austin and Brodie’s games and practices into my outlook calendar.  Basically from now until November if you want to see us you can choose from Wednesdays or Thursdays.  Other than that…we are booked.
  • I wish I had better parenting skills.  I can’t seem to get into a good groove with Austin.  You would figure that a child so glaringly like me would be a cinch for me to parent, but it seems to make it harder.  We butt heads on every issue.  I get so frustrated with his inablility to NOT share his opinion or view on everything said in the house.  He HAS to talk back…it is like an impulse he can not control.  While it frustrates me to the point of tears I also completely understand the impulse.  Go figure.
  • As soon as I make the initiative to start really potty training Chase he has no intrest.  He goes extremely sporadically and will argue the whole time about it.  So much for him being the easy one.
  • Speaking of difficult children, Evan is going to be as much of, if not more of, a monkey than Chase.  He can not walk yet (Chase walked at 9 months) but he is into everything.  He can climb all the chairs in the house.  I found him on top of the computer desk yesterday “rearranging”.  He also got the oven opened and stood on the door to try to see what was on top.  Chase left the refrigerator door open and Evan took out the bottom drawer and was standing in it.  Did I mention this was all yesterday?
  • I have been feeling overwhelmed lately.  Yesterday by the end of the day I just wanted to sit in the corner by myself and just sit.  In silence.  Days like those are when I really notice whether or not my heart started off in an engaged mode or a disengaged mode.  If I started my day off disengaged, the day is not going to be pretty.  These are the days I also notice the difference in an UN-medicated LaShawn.
  • I want to write about the whole political thing…but I am not sure I am ready to argue with people.  Hmmm, me not wanting to argue?  There is a new thing.
  • I really need to get my eyebrows waxed…I am furry.
