Saving…

Posted on

I am REALLY trying to get our grocery bill back down to a reasonable level. I admit that lately I have been HORRID about not paying attention to the amount we are spending on groceries. I do use coupons, but only when I happen to see one that we normally would buy. I rarely look at store ads. These are all things I need to do better at. Do you have any other tricks? I am open to all ideas that do NOT involve shopping at 5 different stores. I refuse….

Any ideas?

It’s a Party…

Shana and I took a QUICK trip to Lubbock this last weekend for my brother, Lyndon’s 30th birthday party.  The party was supposed to be a surprised, but of course he found out about it.  Brat.  Shana and I were in charge of buying so decorations….we got sidetracked a little:

We got back on track though. I made my brother this banner and had it printed. I love it!

Then he arrived…happy, but not surprised. He was surprised that Shana and I were there however. So at least something was a surprise.

not surprised

My brother demonstrated the proper technique for doing shots.

Shana and I can NOT take a normal picture together. I always either look like a freak or we laugh before the picture is taken.

We did manage a few normal pictures. My sister in law Mandy joined us for a few.

The kids…as we are known to my parents. Shana is their other daughter (we have known each other since we were 4 and 5).

My grandfather came by for a little while (until we got too rowdy).

And if you ever wonder where I get my weirdness from…may I present my parents and my brother.

The great part about the weekend was seeing my family and hanging out with Shana!!!!

The boys decided that they wanted to do karate this spring instead of baseball.  I gotta say I am loving it.  They go to the same place at the same time every week.  Much easier on my schedule.  Not to mention they look so serious…cracks me up.

Playing with textures…

I have started to see how textures can take an ordinary photo and make it…pop.  So that is what I have been playing with today.  I have also started to look for textures in nature and my surroundings.  It is amazing at the diversity of textures around if you just pay attention.  All of these were taken yesterday afternoon at the park.

Day 11

11/365 – Elk at Cabela’s

THAT is what I felt like for the first 8 days of no cokes.  It is better now.  I am drinking a TON of water and my morning coffee.  I have had one or two diet cokes, but have not cheated with the regular soda.  The cravings are subsiding….THANKFULLY!

Now it is time to get serious about the other health issues….and it is going to SUCK!
