Looking back on a decade….

Posted on

Two posts in one day!!!  Woo for me

OK, so since we have now closed out the first decade of the new century I thought I would follow suite with the rest of the blogging world and break down the big events of each year.

2000:  Austin, my first child, was born.

2001:  The only thing I can think of major for that year was the September 11th attacks….and that makes me really sad.

2002:  Moved back to Texas from California.  Brodie, the second kiddo, was born.

2003:  Became a Christian!!!!  My husband and I separated.  Can you say a year of opposites??

2004:  Got a divorce.  Met Jason.

2005:  Married Jason (best thing I have ever done).  Moved to the Dallas area.

2006:  Chase was born.

2007:  Evan was born.

2008:  Got my first DSLR camera and was bitten by the photo bug in a big way.

2009:  Started homeschooling my kids.  We built a house and moved to the sticks.

In the last decade I was pregnant 3 years…nursing a baby for 4 years.

I think the next decade will have less baby action.  :)

Oops, I fell off the face of the Earth…

How was that for an unannounced blog break?   I am not sure why the last few months of 2009 found me ignoring my beloved blog so.  Well, actually a lot of it was moving and the holidays.  But I can only blame that for part of it.

It’s a new year and a new year means a fresh start.  And that is exactly what I plan to do with my blog.  Not only here, but the other places I blog for as well.  This week might still be a little quiet as I am battling the sinus infection from hell and trying to get the kids and I back on a schedule.

However, I will treat you to a few pictures from our Christmas. We got something we rarely get here in Texas…A WHITE CHRISTMAS!

snow angels

The boys lasted about 2.5 seconds in the snow. It was so windy and so darn cold that it just wasn’t all that fun. But we did get a few snow angels made first.

Santa brought the big boys Rockband for Christmas. I spent most of Christmas Day singing. Obviously, by the look on my brother’s face I wasn’t singing well.

My brother always gives me that look

Here is one of the things I love about West Texas…sunrise.

See you soon friends.

I see you
